DISCOVER THE HIDDEN TREASURES OF THE INCAS IN PERU

Whenever we go sailing, people ask us where the “Admiral” hails from.
I have to admit that, even when she tries, she cannot pass for a Viking but that Andean look is definitely a huge part of her charm and I sure fell for it many years ago.
Whenever we tell our friends that Mila is from Peru, we invariably get the reaction “I always wanted to go there”.

Well, here is your opportunity…  Mila and I are organizing a trip to Peru from March 18 to 28, 2020, especially designed for our adventurous sailing friends.

If you ever really wanted to visit this fascinating country, we invite you to register without delay for this exciting trip. You will not regret it. Being married to Mila, I have had numerous occasions to visit Peru and even have hiked the Inca Trail twice. It truly is a unique destination to discover.

During this trip, you will explore the city of Lima and its colonial attractions like the historic area of Barranco, the Central Plaza of Lima, the Government Palace and the Monastery of San Francisco.

We will fly to the highland city of Arequipa in the Andes which, in my opinion, is the most beautiful city in Peru with its colonial buildings made of white volcanic stone and its monastery of Santa Catalina, a city within the city; the Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, where Indians still live on their floating islands. While visiting this area, you will have ample opportunity to check out the colorful handicraft stalls and shops of the locals; Cusco, which, the Incas believed was the center or navel of the world. Discover the archeological Inca marvels of Sacsayhuaman (pronounce it “sexy woman” to make it easy), Kenko, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. Wander through the streets of Cusco and marvel at the colonial cathedral built on top of the Inca’s holiest temple of the Coricancha.

  • Jean’s sailing and organizational skills are of the highest quality! Every one took turns at the helm while Jean kept an eye out for trouble. We had a wonderful experience cruising with Jean and Mila. We would sail anywhere in the world with them!

  • We have sailed with Jean and Mila on 2 separate occasions, both in, Croatia, and found them to be delightful people to be with on a sailing adventure. They know the sailing areas and islands extremely well, including hidden gems and restaurants on each island that you might not find on your own.  They are well organized and do an excellent job of planning, yet remain flexible enough to take into account the desires of the group.  We hope to take more sailing adventures with them in the future.
    Bob and Cathy – California
  • It was fantastic to have somebody who knows the areas, the vendors and the best restaurants! I would never have found such hidden gems if it were not for their leadership. I had a great time, made new friends who love to sail and enjoy good food!

  • My husband and I have joined 3 flotillas and have found that Captain Jean’s experience as a sailor and his knowledge of the cruising waters along with “Admiral” Mila’s knack for finding the finest restaurants and interesting places to visit on shore makes Med Sailing Adventures a fantastic, one-of-a-kind vacation!  We look forward to many more trips with them.

  • I thought the trip was an experience of a lifetime with opportunities to see new geography and to get to know nice and interesting folks.  There were balanced occasions to sail and crew, all the while learning from experienced mariners.  The luxurious boats that Med Sailing Adventures chartered were first class with more bells and whistles than one could image.  Jean was very astute about the local culture and history. Of course, there were great pastries, pizzas, stuffed squashed blossoms, and wine ashore.  Not to forget the water – it was crystal clear!

  • Just wanted to say “Thank you” for the incredible sailing trip. You both not only were incredible hosts in introducing us to the area and all the beautiful towns but you also made the sailing both interactive and enjoyable.
    Annie & Craig – Ohio
  • Sailing the beautiful Croatian islands was fun and our hosts Jean and Mila were Amazing !!! Especially enjoyed the vineyard supper of roasted lamb on Vis.
