Overview
ASA 103 – Coastal Cruising This course introduces coastal cruising skills such as basic navigation, reefing, docking, anchoring, sail trim, weather awareness, and seamanship. Students gain the knowledge and confidence needed to operate a cruising sailboat in near-coastal waters. ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising course is an immersive training program designed to prepare students to safely operate a 30–45 ft cruising sailboat as both skipper and crew on multi-day voyages. Taught according to American Sailing’s official standards, this course focuses on the practical skills and seamanship required for bareboat chartering in coastal waters. Prerequisites for this course are ASA 101 (Basic Keelboat Sailing)
