SATURDAY

Our adventure begins at Alimos Marina, Athens. After a relaxed morning, we’ll kick off the day with a provisioning raid—picking up all the essentials for the week ahead—while the skippers complete their yacht check-ins. Once everything is in place, we’ll set sail for Cape Sounion to visit the iconic Temple of Poseidon.

As sailors, we can’t pass up the chance to pay our respects to the god of the sea, ensuring that Poseidon blesses us with calm seas for the journey. The sunset from the temple is nothing short of spectacular, casting a golden glow over the Aegean. We’ll anchor nearby for the night, with the temple illuminated in the distance, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

Later, we’ll take the dinghy to shore and enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the local tavernas, soaking in the peaceful surroundings and the view of the temple standing tall on the hill. It’s the perfect way to kick off an unforgettable week of sailing.

MONDAY

The sail from Aegina to Poros covers about 17NM, and upon arrival, we’ll dock in this picturesque town, known for its lively atmosphere. Poros is a vibrant and popular vacation spot, offering plenty of entertainment, from leisurely strolls along the waterfront to exploring the town’s shops and cafes. Methana

TUESDAY

Our next destination is a short sail to the Methana Peninsula, a fascinating volcanic region known for its thermal spas. After a hike up to the volcanic crater, you’ll have the chance to relax and rejuvenate in the healing mineral waters—perfect for unwinding after a day of sailing. And yes, even if you’re not a geologist, you’ll quickly understand the connection to the region’s name, as the sulfurous waters are a giveaway to the volcanic activity beneath.

After a day of exploration and relaxation, we’ll head to the charming fishing village of Vathy for the night. Belen describes it as absolutely gorgeous and a must-see spot. It’s a small, intimate village with limited docking space, so if we can’t find enough room to dock, we’ll spend the night at the Methana dock instead. Either way, you’re in for a peaceful, picturesque evening in one of the region’s most delightful spots.
