SEYCHELLES, LOCATED IN THE INDIAN OCEAN
If you are ever looking for Paradise on Earth, you might consider joining us on one of our flotillas to the Seychelles.
This group of 115 tropical islands is located in the Indian Ocean, north of Madagascar. Like their neighbor to the south, the Seychelles have a unique flora and fauna nowhere else to be found in the world.
These islands have been ruled by the French and the British and, during a period of time, were a haven for pirates. Supposedly many treasures are still waiting to be found in hidden caves. The languages spoken in the Seychelles are English, French and Creole and you will definitely enjoy this melting pot of European, Indian and African cultures and gastronomy.
Our sailing waters there are between the islands of Mahe, with the country’s capital, Victoria, Praslin and Grand Digue.
Imagine sailing these blue waters from one island to another, walk on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, snorkel or dive on an unbelievably rich undersea world where you will swim with sea turtles. Speaking of turtles, these islands have giant land turtles – some of them over 100 years old – and they enjoy being petted by the human visitors. Yes, you can imagine yourself being back in the Garden of Eden…
Sailing in the Seychelles is pretty easy and that is one of the reasons we selected this destination for our flotillas. If you have chartered in the Caribbean of if you have participated in one of our flotillas in the Mediterranean, it will be a no-brainer. Less experienced sailors do not have to fear being overwhelmed. They will be in good hands.
Our flotillas will consist mainly of multihulls, like Lagoon 400, 440, 450 and 500 and, if you prefer to have a local captain on board, we can arrange that as well.
Although the Seychelles are on the other side of the world, way down under, it is not difficult or expensive to fly there from North America. You can fly from the main hubs in the USA and Canada to Istanbul, Qatar, London, Dubai, Frankfurt, Paris or even Johannesburg and connect from there to Victoria. Why not take advantage of a layover in one of the connecting cities to help you get over the jetlag?
